FAKE CRITERIONS DOUBLE FAKEOUT!

Recently, I saw Jurassic Park: The Lost World for the first time in quite awhile.

I’d forgotten the scene in the video store, where you briefly see posters and standees for a bunch of fake films, including an adaptation of King Lear starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here’s a frame.

It reminded me that we haven’t had a Double Fakeout theme in quite awhile.

Oh, what is Double Fakeout? Fake Criterion covers for fake films referenced in films, television shows, books, songs, whatever. Here’s the tag for the last two times we did this.

So, go nuts, post them and make sure to tag them “double fakeout” so we’ll be able to see and reblog.

Fake criterion collection cover for one of my favorite series. The original idea was to fill the darkness with all the text commentary by Jay, but using all the shots of the woods from the series seemed like an easier and more satisfying visual.

Sometimes I get bored, watch the miniseries where they introduce the Green Ranger and make a fake Criterion for it.
