I had a little contest with my Facebook friends to see who could guess how many movies I owned and I promised the winners a Fake Criterion of their choosing. My buddy Nate Young decided to reinvigorate my Edgar Wright-oriented design streak, and therefore picked Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as his prize.
Scott Pilgrim’s original cover is a very bright, heavy action-oriented piece; I decided that mine would be a quiet moment shared between one of my favorite movie couples. Scott suddenly crushing his red party cup is one of those endearing little touches that I love about the character.
The title treatment comes from the gorgeous Scott Pilgrim prerelease poster. Té Baybute’s Manhattan Hand was used as the supplemental font. Stay tuned, because I’ll be posting photos of this packaging in real life by the end of the week!
